This video was made by film students at the Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, Portugal. The citizen marionette versus the government puppeteer. Without voting, we are tied to the choices of others. We become dolls, spun around, and pulled left and right. A government’s responsibility is to enable us to lead a life of freedom and opportunity – not to dictate it. With our vote, we cut ourselves loose from these strings and exercise our independent free choice. Our lives aren’t games, and only by voting can we protect ourselves from devolving into helpless marionettes.
