The Social Charter: Europe's Social Constitution
Reinforcing the Charter through the Turin Process
The Council of Europe’s Social Charter guarantees day-to-day human needs. including health, housing, education, social security and protection and welfare services. Using images of positive everyday situations, this short film shows that implementing the Social Constitution of Europe will ensure dignity, bring people together, contribute to their individual and collective well being and promote social cohesion, peace and economic development.
The film has been made in the framework of the Turin process for the European Social Charter, an initiative launched by Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland in 2014 to reinforce the Charter, one of the key priorities of his mandate.
