Empowering children to claim their rights
Interview with Regina Jensdottir
Regina Jensdottir, Council of Europe coordinator for the Rights of the Children, explains that children's rights are too often ignored because they are regarded as their parents' property, without their own individual rights.
She calls for the strengthening of children's rights in a wide range of contexts, ranging from divorce cases to violence inflicted on children by parents in the form of punishment. She also recommends more protection for child activists who are often subjected to online hate speech.
