Tackling violence against children
Interview with Najat Maalla M’jid
The United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative on violence against children Najat Maalla M’jid explains that violence against children is a global problem that arises in multiple contexts including migration flows, poverty and social conflicts. It can also take many forms, for example cyber bullying, hate speech online etc, as well as physical abuse.
She calls for improved cooperation between international organisations such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe, to share best practices, avoid duplication, and mobilise and empower families and children to become activists and drivers of change.
