Free expression facing greatest threat in a generation

Interview with Mohamed Fahmy
10'11'' 18 November 2015 Council of Europe Strasbourg

Mohamed Fahmy is a journalist and the former bureau chief of Al Jazeera English in Cairo. In a case widely criticised as being politically motivated, Fahmy was sent to prison for aiding terrorists and endangering national security. He spent 438 days in prison before being pardoned by Egypt's President.

Mohammed Fahmy says that freedom of expression is facing its worst threat in a generation as journalists are being targeted by both governments and terror groups.
