No Hate Speech Movement aims to stamp out intolerance
This video, shot in Kehl, Germany and Strasbourg, France, tells the story of a young man who uses social media to grossly insult a woman that he has never met before. When he later bumps into her in a lift he regrets his hateful tirade, but the damage is already and it is too late for him to apologise to her.
The Council of Europe’s No Hate Movement is aimed at persuading young people not to engage in hateful discourse on social media and other Internet-based channels. Instead it encourages tolerance and understanding for others.
