Overcoming bullying : Dejana’s story
Part of the global FACES project to stop bullying
Dejana comes from Novi Sad in Serbia. She was bullied in school because of her disability. Thanks to her positive attitude, she not only survived this painful experience, but went on to win a Gold Medal at the 8th World Para-Tawkwondo Championship in Antalya, Turkey. She is also a successful artist, presenting her work thoroughout the Balkan region.
Her story is told as part of a global project called “FACES: How I survived being bullied“. Launched in 2017 by Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, the international project is led by a group of public media organisations, and aims to combat bullying wherever in the world it takes place.
